The Faculty of Mineral Processing is the main structural unit that unites departments, laboratories related to areas and specialties related to the processing of mineral raw materials, as well as educational departments that participate in the educational process and form an interdisciplinary level of knowledge within the curricula compiled by the graduating departments.
The faculty includes four graduating departments and two non-graduating departments involved in the training of specialists in the areas of training assigned to the Faculty.
Faculty graduates: create new automated technologies, carry out modeling of technological processes, automation tools and systems, analyze information about the properties and characteristics of mineral raw materials, choose technologies for mineral processing, determine the parameters of equipment for processing plants, develop technological processes for the production of parts and assemblies for oil refineries , perform work on the creation, installation, commissioning, maintenance, operation, diagnostics of technological machines and equipment, develop the main characteristics of the chemical process, develop technological processes for processing mineral and technogenic raw materials, obtaining metals and alloys.
The educational and laboratory complex of the faculty of processing of mineral raw materials includes: specialized computer classes according to the profiles of the departments; specialized computer classes for the implementation of core activities in the preparation of scientific and pedagogical personnel of the highest qualification.
Directions of scientific research at the faculty are related to the development of technologies: complex processing of raw materials of non-ferrous, noble and rare metals and energy-efficient technologies for the disintegration and concentration of mineral raw materials; complex processing of man-made waste with the production of commercial products; deep processing of carbon raw materials and materials; processing of crude oil to obtain high-margin commercial products.
