The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering implements the main special tasks, which include improving the reliability of mining and transport machines by design and technological methods.
The main specialization of the faculty in the scientific direction is reflected in the following tasks:
- establishing patterns of surface treatment with different structural and physical properties;
- development of hybrid smart materials and substantiation of their areas of application;
- development of traffic control technologies in urban agglomerations based on automated transport systems;
- establishment of interdependence and simulation modeling of the parameters of energy-power elements of automotive technology;
- development of technologies for the production of wear elements of mining and technological machines;
- establishing patterns of new designs of mining equipment for the implementation of climate-neutral geotechnologies;
- development of methods for improving the performance, including energy efficiency, of mining equipment;
- development of methods for predicting the residual resource of mining machines;
- formation of metrological support for intelligent test and measurement tools, including multi-parameter quantities;
- development of methods for technical diagnostics and monitoring of the state of extended objects of the transport infrastructure of the fuel and energy complex.
- development and improvement of methods and instruments for environmental quality control and quantitative assessment of the impact of greenhouse gas emissions.
